Through an engaged critical and creative process, Unlocking Silent Histories accelerates digital equity and critical literacies among Indigenous youth worldwide, who generate video ethnographies to leverage unrecognized Indigenous knowledge and community-led action.
Settler-colonialism disproportionately impacts Indigenous youth, creating cultural, linguistic, and heritage disruptions and perpetuating gross inequality. By partnering with established organizations in Indigenous communities worldwide, USH provides a space for Indigenous youth to create media productions that unveil historical and contemporary wisdom and highlight community-identified issues.
